Does your vote count? Mine does not. Why? Because I live in the wrong voting district.
Are you a disenfranchised voter? I am . . .

It is time for real change in our voting system.
Us and Them, Deja-vu
Left, Right, Republican and Democrats
Christians and Communists
The 2008 U.S. election is probably the most divisive election in U.S. History.
THEM and US has become very polarizing. Who are WE and who are THEY?
US
- Many of US are the long haired hippies of the 1970's that apposed the Vietnam War and the draft.
- WE are the people that are ashamed of our international reputation as a bullying self serving super power led by some of the greediest people on Earth.
- WE are the people that believe that our current involvement in the Middle East is a quagmire worse than Vietnam and worse, it is not about anti-communiunist ideals, it is ONLY about the oil and money.
- WE are the people that think our President is WRONG and that we are no less patriotic than anyone else.
- WE are the people who think our government needs to worry more about the needs of the PEOPLE than of soulless, amoral multinational corporations that have no allegiance to ANY country.
- WE are the people that want to know why heads are not rolling over the current financial crisis.
THEM
- THEY are the people that want to force their brand of Christianity on everyone with the governments help.
- THEY are the ones that want to dictate their idea of what is "moral" on everyone and if you do not believe as they do then you will burn in hell.
- THEY are the people that think anyone that is against "the war" (any war, right or wrong) are traitors or terrorists.
- THEY believe that if you do not support a lying thieving President of their affiliation then you are a traitor.
- THEY are the people that believe the poor should be taxed at a higher rate than the rich because there are more poor to pay. . .
- THEY think that you do not value the sacrifice of our servicemen and women if you do not believe the war they are fighting is just.
- THEY are the ones that think rewarding the wall street crooks that caused the current financial mess by giving them billions of dollars will solve the problem.
In the past THEY called those of us that were against a war we did not belong in "communist sympathizers", now we are called traitors or "terrorists".
THEY think they are patriots.
The war in the Iraq is the same kind of unwinnable war that we fought in Vietnam. In fact it is worse.
It is a civil war based on hatreds we do not understand that go back thousands of years.
The same people that said we could win in Vietnam are saying we can win in Iraq.
The Presidential candidate of that party is saying he can win it, "just like we did in Vietnam".
Is he so delusional that he forgets we LOST in Vietnam?
In Afganistan we are chasing the ghost of a man that may not exist who attacked our country killing nearly 3,000 in the worst attack ever on the U.S.
In the first days of the war there it was reported that we had killed tens of thousands. The total in Iraq is roughly 100,000.
The ratio of our casualties to their death toll (combatant and non-combatant) is huge demostrating the killing efficiency of modern armed forces with kill ratios of 100 to 1000 to one initially and 20 to 25:1 over the occupation.
So how many more of THEM do we have to kill to make up for those of US killed.
Twelve to one is a significant ratio.
The problem is, they are OLD TESTEMENT moralists where an eye for an eye means ONE for ONE.
Are we setting ourselves up for retaliation for centuries?
How can we ever claim WE are right? In who's logic is twelve lives of THEIRS worth one of OURS?
This is why "THEM and US" is becoming "The World and the U.S.".
Ugly Politics
Them and Us has become the gun toting war monging RIGHT who claims NOT to be the same as the rest of their party against
the pacifist, power to the people LEFT who is the standard bearer for THEIR party.
A Repulican who says he not a repulican against a Democrat that stands for every ideal of his party.
John McCaine wants the support of his party but does not want to be aligned with it.
His position is so weak that all he could attack is his opponents sudden fame which was nothing more than envy and jelousy.
The Republicans can find nothing better to do than claim Obama's middle name (an acident of birth) makes him a dark evil character aligned with terrorists.
While they have not pulled the BLACK racism card they HAVE pulled the ARAB racist card.
